Simple gifts

Life is a holy experience....so much can be missed by whirling through the minutes, focusing on tasks at hand, dreams to be chased.

Yet, each day has so many simple gifts...tender moments to be grasped and savored. Endless gifts that are ours for the taking, if we only take the time to own them.

children laughing
the smell of freshly cut grass
the soft, rhythmic breathing of your child as they sleep beside you
holding hands with your sweetheart
the coolness of rain
the wonder of watching a garden grow
capturing the memory of a child's smile, eyes glistening with life
the touch of a child's hand

And such are these precious things....
For a really awesome blog on endless gifts, go to the blog "Holy Experience"...see under my blog list!

  2. Savanna, I read your response to someone's poutine. I am an Elementary French teacher and we are studying Canada this year. I would love to serve poutine to my students. Do you know of a recipe? Melanie at glmixon@msn.com

  3. Hi Greg,

    Just saw your post....

Poutine in very simple - just make some fries, put them in a bowl, sprinkle some cheese curds on top, and pour gravy over it all! (thick Gravy is best).

    Enjoy!

  4. How funny, Greg! I haven't been a very good blogger! I am so sorry I didn't see your comment before...you don't need this info now, but for future reference....
The key to good poutine is cheese curds. My family lives in Tennessee, and they can find these at the grocery store. The gravy used is usually a dark gravy (like a beef gravy). Many people like vinegar on the poutine too.
The hot gravy will melt the cheese. If you can't find curds, use mozzarella.

    Enjoy!
